On Tuesday, April 4th, Heather and Cory received awful news. They took Vienna to the ER for headaches and vomiting, and they found she had a tumor in her cerebellum which was approximately 4x4 cm. She was transferred to CHOP via ambulance for further treatment. Since then, she had surgery to remove the tumor and she has been recovering ever since. She has had some small victories over the last few days, but recovering from such a major surgery is difficult and they want their sweet, happy little girl to be herself again. Waiting for answers has been emotionally draining but Cory and Heather have been incredibly strong. This is all brand new and shocking, so far there is no prognosis, and they won't know if the tumor was benign or malignant until early this week. When they find out, they will set up a plan. She is currently in CHOP's PICU, but moving to the Oncology unit hopefully tomorrow and will be assessed for speech, physical, and occupational therapy in the coming days. This fundraiser is to help with any medical bills, food, and other needs they may have while Vienna is hospitalized.
