We are excited to share the incredible journey of the Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurmat Vidhyala Bristol, a vital hub for the community and the UK's first purpose built Sikh Supplementary School. The Vidhyala will be a sacred space where children will learn Gurbani, embrace Sikhi, and connect with their roots. A space where elders will gather, families will unite, and our culture will flourish.

In May 2023, we successfully purchased a derelict public house for £635,000. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our mission to create a space where culture, education, and community can thrive.

But to open the doors of this centre, we urgently need help completing the construction. Brick by brick, this dream is becoming a reality—but we can’t do it alone.

This isn’t just a building—it’s a beacon of hope for the next generation.

We are thrilled to announce that our planning consent to develop this property into a vibrant community hub was approved in October 2024. Since January 2025, we have embarked on the much-anticipated building works, during which we have raised (and spent) over £100,000. These funds have been instrumental in enabling us to complete extensive demolition work, install a new roof for the existing structure, and dig and complete foundation works.

However, as we move forward, we find ourselves at a critical juncture. To continue the progress of this important project, we urgently need to raise an additional £100,000 for the construction of the steel structural frame. This is an essential step which will form the skeleton framework of the building.
