Riley Mullins here! Over the past ten years, my career in non-profit organizations, fundraising, and development has provided opportunities to take experiences to the next level. Board games have been both an integral tool for and reprieve from life's efforts. I am passionate about crafting environments and facilitating experiences that make memories.

After nearly a year of planning, pivoting, and collaboration we are excited to announce a new family-friendly board game venue coming to northeast Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is top-tier when it comes to craft beer culture. In this city, a hearty brew is an essential offering of the board game experience.

Whether you're local or far off we wanted to give you the opportunity to expand the board game culture beyond dining rooms, unfinished basements, and even privately decked out game rooms to the wider community waiting to be introduced to an immersive gaming experience.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Husband. Father. Entrepreneur. Board game enthusiast. 

I've played hundreds of games and visited dozens of local game stores across the country. For the past five years I've playtested titles from my favorite publisher and I've had the privilege of working at GENCON several times running demos while meeting some of the great folks in the board game industry. 

Just before COVID I launched MULLINSPIELE, a new board game convention in Cincinnati. Two weeks after opening registration we had to postpone indefinitely, but the delay became a catalyst for our evolving efforts and birthed the vision for Victory Pints. 

I am passionate about crafting environments and facilitating experiences that make memories!

THE GOLDEN ERA OF MODERN BOARD GAMES

We are in the midst of what many are calling the GOLDEN ERA of modern board games. The global board game market is projected to grow from $7.2 billion in 2017 to $12 billion in 2023. Thousands of new titles are released annually. Many of the top-rated games of all time have been published in the last five years alone - and they're a far cry from the ones most of us grew up with. While classics like Monopoly, Scrabble, Risk, and Sorry are still fun to play, ingenuity in design, mechanics, art, theme, and components has birthed a world of new titles for every generation. Droves of new people are being introduced to the hobby via growing conventions like GENCON in Indianapolis, boasting 70,000 - 100,000 attendees. Custom board game table manufacturers are backlogged with orders from passionate gamers that are eager to deck out their personal play space. It's an exciting time for the board game community.

But, some think that all this is only for a specific type of person - nerds, geeks, whatever you want to call it. Many don't realize that the board game industry has something to offer everyone - not only games of every theme, complexity, and style, but a diverse and creative community to experience them with.

There's a yearning for screen-less recreation, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences alongside family, friends, and even strangers. Board games bring people together for just that - through cooperative problem solving, storytelling, and friendly competition.
