My precious nephew, Daniel Sarmiento, is fighting a battle that no child should have to fight – he was born with sickle cell disease.
Due to his constant pain and how his health and living condition was deteriorating, he recently received a bone marrow transplant, his brother was the donor.
Daniel just turned 10 years old this past October 31. He is tender-hearted so loving, honor student and always willing to help others.
November 10, he had the transplant. He is now recuperating but unfortunately we got really sad news today, he lost eye sight on his left eye. Doctors don’t really know if he will recover from this or if this may bring any other complications.
I have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden for my sister Lena. She is a single mom of two boys. Daniel and Samuel, Daniel is currently in the hospital and Samuel is living with my parents because he is attending school (also honor student). Over the next days, weeks, and months ahead my sister and Daniel will need to be at countless doctor appointments, hospital stays and procedures. Due to Daniel’s condition she has to move close to the Jackson Memorial Hospital, she applied for the Ronald McDonald house but the wait for stay there is too long and Daniel’s surgery couldn’t wait. After Daniel gets out of the hospital, she and the kids need help getting a new start in a safe place close to the Jackson Memorial Hospital. As you can imagine the normal costs of every day living...such as rent, food, gas, car, etc...the medical costs will be astronomical.
This fund and your help will enable Daniel’s mom, Lena to be able to concentrate on Daniel getting well and fighting whatever battle is yet to come while me and my parents help Samuel keep living a somewhat normal life. Your donation can help secure an apartment close to the Holtz children's hospital when Daniel gets release from the hospital.
From the bottom of my heart and my family we humbly ask that you share this link with friends and family and if possible in giving (any amount will help).
We thank you for caring and your support; God bless each and every one of you!!
