Hello Everyone,

This is our Dad, Victor. He is battling an unexpected fight. But if you know him, you know he’s a bull and as stubborn as they come. So he’s fighting hard!

About a year and a half ago, we learned that he developed cirrhosis of the liver. This was a shock to us all because he was not a heavy drinker. Nevertheless, they believe it stemmed from Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NASH). Ever since the diagnosis, we have been on a spiral. He went from working out daily, working a full 10 hour work day to disability…all within months. His latest hospital stay was 2 weeks, and it didn’t look good. But the doctors at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center have been amazing and were able to turn things around and get our father on the list for a transplant! This is a game changer. If, no…when he gets this transplant, our father will have a second chance in life.

Normally, we hold things to ourselves, but this is not the time. It’s been hard, but we’ve all been by his side to help him get through this as best as possible. We lost our mother, his wife, to cancer many years back, so this is unfortunately is a familiar feeling. Prayers and sheer will have been a saving grace for us all. However, today we were given the news that he may be able to receive a transplant sooner than expected. Hence, the reason for this post. We could really use the help of our friends, family, and anyone with a giving heart.
