Every mother dreams of a safe pregnancy, a healthy birth, and watching her child grow and thrive.
But for many ethnic minority women in the UK, this journey is filled with risks and barriers that most people never see.
Black women in the UK are almost four times more likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth than white women. Many face language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, limited access to tailored healthcare, and a lack of community support. The challenges don’t stop at birth — children in these communities often face gaps in early years support that can affect their health and development for life.
That’s why we created Victoria’s Smile UK — a registered charitable organisation dedicated to empowering ethnic minority mothers and their children aged 0–5 through culturally sensitive care, advocacy, education, and community support.
We provide:
• Workshops and outreach programmes to prepare mothers for safe pregnancies.
• Early years support for babies and children aged 0–5, focusing on health, nutrition, and development.
• Advocacy for better maternity and childcare policies.
• Peer support networks so no mother feels alone.
All our services are free — but we can only do this with your help.
