My name is Rosemary Voong and I’m raising funds for my sister, Victoria, who is in the biggest fight of her life right now. She needs our help!
My sister has been battling Cancer since her first diagnosis of Breast Cancer in January 2013 only to beat it and be in remission for the next 2 years with my brother in law, Michael, by her side. In November 2017, the breast cancer metastasized into two vertebraes and one rib. Through dedicated help from a husband and wife team, Suzanna and Dr. Justin Fong, they helped build up Michael and Victoria’s spiritual faith in God’s healing over the metastatic diagnosis given to her with directions to “get her affairs in order”. Within the next three months, the lesions were inactive. Victoria and her family rejoiced that she was again pain free and had survived the initial Doctors prognosis.
As a result of this, Victoria and Michael scaled back on their lifestyle to focus on their marriage and priorities. Victoria also continued to support the interests of daughter, Meigan, 14 and Luke, 12 , both of whom were becoming quite the golf players! As a Freshman at her local high school, Meigan received the honor of being the alternate team member on the Varsity Golf team who happened to win the State Championship!
However, just after Thanksgiving, Victoria would once again experience the familiar back pain. Tests would show that the Cancer had again metastasized , this time up and down her spine. At this point, intense efforts were made to attack this disease. A bump in the road....in March, due to CoVid-19, their efforts were hindered because of the order to shelter in place. One highlight to come of this was that this enabled Michael to be at home to care for Victoria.
Which now brings us to the present day....through many ups and downs, successes and disappointments, they were given yet again more disappointing news. This time the Doctors’ believe that the cancer has spread to the liver and hips rendering her mostly bed ridden. Doctors’ suggested Hospice but Michael and Victoria believe, through their faith, miracles can happen. Along with Suzanna and her partnership with Lampstand Prayer Ministry, they will continue to preserve her life and to pray for her return to a healthy person.
Victoria is now at home and Michael has vowed to continue being her caregiver which will mean that he will be unable to go back to work. Due to the pandemic, Victoria had been laid off from work and with that her health insurance was discontinued as well. With Michael staying at home to care for his wife, he does not foresee going back to work in the near future as an option. They are going through private insurance they are paying for and while there may be medical bills there is an ongoing necessity to buy medical and daily supplies my sister needs to maintain her care.
Victoria is a wonderful mother who sacrificed at times her health so that she could support her children at their golf tournaments and even with back pain, she would be there to help with carrying their golf bag for them and walking far distances to see them tee off. She is a devoted friend to many and loved by many. Her commitment to her family and friends is what drives this beautiful lady who I call my sister. For those who know her and want to help, here is a way. Your donations will go directly to offset the incurred bills and to help ensure that continuing costs will be taken care of for her road to recovery. If there are funds remaining, a portion will go toward Lampstand Prayer Ministry for the dedication and generosity Suzanna and her ministry has and will continue to bestow upon my sister and her family.
The Goal for this Go Fund Me is raising money to handle things such as day-to-day expenses and to get extra help preparing meals for the children so that Michael is able to focus on caring for Victoria through these challenging times. Both past and recent medical/hospital bills are needing to be paid and now that Victoria is home, your donations will also help to ensure her continued care.
Thank you in advance for your help and please keep Victoria in your prayers!
