Victoria Jones Cotillion Fundraiser

Tax deductible
Happy New Year Family and Friends,

I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start; mine is! I am happy to share with you that I am well on my way to finishing up my senior year, and so many exciting things are happening for me. It is an honor to announce to you that I have been chosen to participate as a debutante in the 2017-2018 Pink Cultured Pearls Cotillion, which is sponsored by the Ivy Community Foundation, Inc. of the Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. The culminating event will be the cotillion; however, I’ve been enriched by the many activities the debutantes have participated in over the last few months. Social and life skills, college readiness, and community service have been the heart of the program. As we near the end, I need your help.

As a debutante, I will be competing against other young ladies to be crowned Miss Debutante 2018. The winner is primarily chosen by her ability to raise the greatest funds. You should know that the proceeds for this event will be used to provide scholarship awards and continue the work that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. does in the community. I am humbly asking for your support by way of a monetary donation.

One of the goals I set for myself since learning of my acceptance into all five institutions I applied to was to work really hard to secure as many scholarships as I could to lessen the burden of college expenses on my parents. They constantly tell me that the only thing I should worry about is being a good student, and that they will take care of the rest. I know they will, and I appreciate them, but I also want to prove to them how responsible I am in attempting to pave my way financially to college. My plan is to attend Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and major in Fashion Design and minor in Business.

It is hard to believe that four years of high school have flown by and I am about to embark on yet another milestone in my life. During high school, I have consistently maintained and A+ average. My current GPA is a 4.2. I have been involved in many clubs and organizations, volunteered in meaningful ways, and have found time to do things I enjoy. My two passions right now are playing the piano and ice skating. I will be competing in my first ice skating competition in May. I know it’s late, but better late than never. Senior year has been easier than I thought. As a dual enrollment student, I take course at Georgia State University and will earn both high school and college credit. I have had a sneak preview of what college is going to be like, and I can honestly say I can’t wait until August 2018.

Please help me top off this magical year by helping me earn a scholarship by participating in this year’s cotillion. I am excited to make my formal debut, but even more excited about the possibility of being awarded one of the top scholarships. Scholarships will be issued based on how much money each debutante raises.

I want to share with you important information you will need to know about making a contribution. Please know that NO donation is too small and EVERY donation is greatly appreciated. My goal is to raise $7,000. Your donations will be acknowledge in the souvenir program. Ads may be purchased in the following amounts:
