Bake Cancer Away!

My name is Mara Franco, and I created this campaign on behalf of my 11 year-old daughter, Victoria. We currently live in Miami, Florida. Victoria started middle school last August and on her second day she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of her leg - a very rare form of bone cancer. She has now been bravely fighting this cancer for over 8 months.

Victoria’s passions include dancing and baking. Although Victoria isn't able to dance due to her condition, she can still bake and has been since her diagnosis. Baking has played a really important role in relieving her stress and keeping her hopeful and positive.

With these funds, Victoria and I would love to bring the joy of baking to other children's lives by hosting cake decorating classes and baking events at hospitals in the area. We want to help other children fighting cancer discover how much fun baking is to help take their minds off the stress they face during their treatment. We’re currently working to secure partnerships with local organizations and partnerships in the Miami area and plan to host these baking events a few times a month. Some of the expenses that the funds will be used towards are location rental, baking supplies, transportation, and the overall execution of the events.

We pray Victoria stays cancer free and can continue to inspire others to have the strength to fight and beat cancer, and also help them learn to make delicious treats!
