Hello, my name is Victoria Gonzales. I’m a 35-year-old single mother of two beautiful children who mean the world to me. On August 31st, 2025, a powerful storm swept through Houston and turned our lives upside down in a single moment.

As the floodwaters rose, I became stranded with my kids, and my car—our only way to get to school, work, and everyday necessities—was swallowed by the water and is now a total loss.

As a mother, the hardest part is watching my children feel the effects of something I can’t control. Without a car, we’ve faced countless challenges just trying to keep up with our daily lives.
