Victor (Pima) in his fight against Cancer
Donation protected
Victor “Pima” De la Cruz has shared that he was beginning treatment for cancer. Though all his family has been shocked, sad, but also his army. He is so loved. Pima is a man who is humble, grateful, and has powerful faith in God. Clarissa De La Cruz is Victors amazing wife. From day 1 put on her armor and said “Bring it on, this is the biggest fight we may ever face, but will stop at nothing to win.” They share two children together Mark & Lucia. Lucia is 3 years old and was adopted by Victor and Clarissa after her mother suddenly passed away. He was diagnosed 12/24/2021 with Cholangiocarcinoma. That was the day he began fighting. Since the heart breaking news, Victor, Claire, and their 3 year old have been making the trips from Nogales, Arizona to Goodyear, Arizona to receive treatment at The Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Due to the severity of the situation it is important that he be monitored closely by his Oncology team. The treatments are from 2 days to a week. Victor is unable to work, but his wife works, parents her 3 year old, and still finds balance, strength, and determination to travel. Travel is crucial, but traveling from their home to CTCA, they do have to pay for hotels, gas, general expenses, food, and co-pays for the appointment. He has received over 40 Chemotherapy treatments, and several radiation therapies. Recently, the Oncology team informed them that his cancer has metastasized (spread) to his bones. Bone cancer is incredibly painful and can cause weakness, because of this he has had a great amount of falls recently. He suffered a fall a week ago, to which he actually fractured his arm, but was rushed to the ER for emergent treatment. Because of the pain, he is immobile for the moment, this resulting now in complete inability to take a step. Now, Victor is in Tucson AZ. in a Skilled Nursing Facility for physical therapy and rehabilitation to aide in this fight. Though Victor is in pain, he has faith that God will cure him from this terrible disease, but he has not once lost faith and has remained the same happy, loving, devoted husband and father. His heart is filled with love, faith, and strength. He’s got a spirit and a contagious laugh which has touched many lives. First & foremost we ask for prayers during this time. We are asking for donations to help with gas, lodging, medical expenses, and traveling expenses. Our family would like to thank you all for your support.
