Victor Andres Vigil Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Miguel and we have created this GoFundMe for my nephew Victor Andres Vigil who was a victim and survivor of a severe assault at the end of January this year. Victor was walking home from school with his friend and was approached by four boys who proceeded to brutally attack them. Both Victor and his friend sustained severe injuries despite not having any prior conflict with these individuals. Our nephew was beaten to the ground to such an extent that each side of his mandible was broken and fractured. As a result, Victor has had major surgery and now has metal plates, wiring, braces, and his mouth will be wired shut for 6 weeks. We are still monitoring for any long-term damage this may have caused physically and psychologically. Victor is a thoughtful, kind-hearted, generous, comical, humble, and down-to-earth teen. Despite this experience, he is trying his best to have a positive outlook on life and wants to move forward without causing additional stress to his loved ones.
Academically, Victor has maintained his grades as an A/B student and wants to play football for his local high school in the future (Pittsburg High). Playing football has enabled him to create friendships and develop confidence in himself. More importantly, it has motivated him to improve his grades, leading him to excel academically and become a college hopeful for our family.
This fund would look to cover medical expenses (therapy in the future for the trauma endured), cover any tutoring costs to help him catch up in school, and create a college fund for him. Those who know Victor personally, know that he does not instigate or augment problems and continues to let his kind soul shine by helping others in need. Our family is deeply saddened by the unwarranted violence he suffered and hopes that no parent experience this. Our family asks for peace from the local community and for the kindness of the larger community to show love as his road to recovery continues. Thank you so much for taking the time to show your support.
