Hi, my name is Karim Eljai. I am raising funds for the victims of the terrible earthquake that hit Morocco Friday September 8, 2023. The funds collected will provide emergency assistance to the families most affected by the earthquake, in particular in the city of Marrakech and its surroundings.

Thousands have lost their lives or are severely injured, many lost their homes or businesses. The historic Medina (old town) in Marrakech suffered serious damage. Several villages around the city and beyond were badly hit, some entirely destroyed.

- Atlas Kinder: The story of this village for abandoned kids is quite incredible, see their website for details. I’ve personally been sponsoring a child in this village for the last few years. In light of the tragedy, and in conjunction with the local authorities, the village will be taking in 50 children who became orphans after the earthquake. - Lions Club Casablanca Doctors: This local NGO has conducted medical caravans in the region affected by the earthquake for years. In light of the tragedy, the Lions Club has led several calls for donations, focusing on blankets (it’s already cold at night in the mountains), non perishable food items as well as medical supplies.
