As a lot of you are aware on Christmas morning my parents and Papa were in a terrible car accident in Weymouth on their way to celebrate Xmas with the family & grandkids... A witness saw the person in the opposite vehicle speeding, texting, and saw him hit the curb, which caused him to proceed into my parents lane causing a head on collision (My dad’s Rav 4 SUV)...emergency vehicles came right away and everyone was sent to the South Shore Hospital
Papas neck and left hip is fractured, as well as some spinal fractures and 3 ribs, torn ligaments, generalized cuts, & bleeding and some stitches were placed, with his age and the probability surgery is not ideal...my dad has a fractured rib and all his ribs are bruised, he was bleeding around his colon and a small amount around his lungs so they are monitoring it, fortunately since the the bleeding has not spread, his knee took a good hit since he was the driver and they are doing an ultrasound soon, my mother has 6 broken ribs on her left side and was bleeding around her small intestine, similar situation as my father but the opposite side, again being monitored closely they are all okay and stable for the moment, it has been one week since the accident and all are still in the hospital , including Papa who is still in the ICU, the big challenge here other than recovering is the fact of the matter that no one can work for quite some time, sadly my dad got laid off right before Christmas and everyone who knows my family personally knows it will be tough for them for awhile , it will take months and months for them to get back on their feet, although my family will probably be mortified and embarrassed I really think it would be a huge help to them to not have to worry about some of their bills & finances why they try and recoop, they may all be going into rehabs prior to coming home and once home will have traveling nurses and physical therapy, a long road ahead, anything will be helpful to them, they all are so loving and caring and so a lot for others, now it’s their turn to get paid back, thank you everyone for all your calls, texts, thoughts & prayers, keep them coming and appreciate the concern , thank you truly & hopefully it is a Happy New Year for everyone & things start to turn around ❤️
