victims in Turkey after the deadly earthquake

The earthquake that struck Monday, Feb. 6 in the southeastern region of Turkey and Syria killed more than two thousand people and left many injured. Many buildings have crumbled after aftershocks hit. The saddening event has left many heartbroken and in a desperate state to search for any possible survivors.

This makes me feel impotent - it is devastating. I have reached out to friends whose family members lived/live in Hatay, Malatya, Mersin, and Gaziantep. They mentioned members of their families remain lost, while others have lost their homes and are currently living in tents.

Friends in Istanbul are expressing their support by gathering funds. I have created this page to help friends and their loved ones and although it may be a small contribution, I know it will go a long way. All funds gathered will be directly sent to friends that have traveled from Istanbul to the southeastern region in hopes of searching for family members and supporting victims.
