Victim’s bike repair after violent assault
Donation protected
A friend fortunately escaped serious injury when a driver intentionally struck him with her car on May 4th. He is mostly OK physically but the electric bike he rides to work every day needs an estimated $2000 in repairs or possible total replacement, plus he has lost work time and will have medical & mental health expenses following this traumatic experience.
Thankfully he is safe and the driver has been apprehended so is not endangering anyone else for now. He was in a bike lane (and traveling at the speed limit) when the driver began the altercation by honking at him. When they stopped at a red light, he attempted to make a right turn to get away from the driver, and then she intentionally drove into/over his bike.
If the driver has assets or insurance to cover his expenses, it could take months or years for him to see any $$ from that. Please help him take care of himself & get back on the road — Donations will go directly to the victim, and any excess amounts above his expenses he will donate to a bicycle safety / road sharing charity.
