Victim of Wrong Way Driver
Donation protected
Life as Doreen Maxwell knew it will never be the same. She lived in a beautiful quiet and peaceful town called Bieber with her boyfriend James Fristoe “Bud.” On Thursday night, they were headed to Sacramento to visit Buds sister, and that is when tragedy struck. They were struck head on by a wrong way driver on Interstate 5 in Sacramento, right by the Airport. Doreen’s boyfriend Bud as well as the wrong way driver were killed instantly. Doreen was life flighted to UCDavis Trauma Center and placed into ICU. Her spinal cord was pinched and required a delicate surgery to fuse disks together in her neck and back in hopes that the pinch to her spinal cord would be fixed. So far so good, there were no complications from surgery. However she does have 3 broken ribs on one side, 11 broken ribs on the other side, a broken jaw, nerve damage in her hand, and several lacerations on and all over her head from being cut by glass and debris. Doctors are saying that it’s quite a miracle she’s made it out alive. Doreen has not only lost “Bud” the love of her life, her only means of transportation, but now has to find a new place to live. Doreen and Bud lived together on a ranch where Bud had worked as a ranch hand. Unfortunately with Bud not being alive anymore, Doreen will have to find another place to live as they will need to hire another ranch hand and will have to provide housing for the new employee as well. Any donation, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. She has a long road ahead of her and I honestly don’t think it has fully set in that the man she loves in no longer with us, we appreciate all donations, prayers, and shares. Thank you.
