Thank you for taking a moment to consider stepping in to help the Albrecht family. Spread the word and share anywhere possible.
Jordan came face to face with the gunman at CVPA on October 24th. Jordan watched on as her teacher and family friend, Jean Kuczka, lost her life standing between Jordan and the shooter. In an act of bravery, Jordan jumped out of the 2nd story window to safety and shattered both of her feet. According to her doctor, "only 2 other patients in my career have had a break this severe". Two surgeries in, and Jordan has 6 pins and multiple plates in her foot. One of her heels has been rebuilt with a plate. It will be 4-6 months until she can walk again.
On top of the physical pain is the emotional trauma. The road to emotional healing will be a lifelong journey. Getting back to school will take an immense amount of support.
Casey (mom) has asked for small jobs to help fill in the gaps while she cares for her family. The community around her has urgered her to stay home to take care of Jordan, 16, Jeremiah, 17, and Alexis, 19.
Only to compound the struggles, the family car died the following week. They cannot get to the grocery store, appointments, physical therapy or anywhere else.
The financial needs are HUGE:
CAR large enough to transport a wheelchair
Medical bills
Trauma Counseling
Physical therapy
Daily expenses (like rent and utilities) while Casey cares for the family
Food
Christmas gifts for Jordan and her brothers (and for Casey)
The family wants to ensure we take a moment to remember Jean Kuczka's brave sacrifice that day. She was a beloved family friend, adored educator, and a guardian angel to the students in her classroom that day. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who is irreplaceable and will be forever missed in the lives she touched.
A few weeks ago, a group of people were introduced to Jordan's family through this page. Jordan and her family have more on their plate than any family should have, so people have stepped in to try to get this family the attention and support they deserve.
