My name is Lorna Hairston and my partner was Auzie Houchins.  On June 30th, 2021, the Los Angeles Police Department detonated over 42 pounds of explosives on 27th Street right in front of our home while I was recovering from a stroke with the assistance of Auzie.  As the media watched, this planned detonation damage the home Auzie had lived in since he was a child. I suffered cuts from the explosion. I laid in the bed with glass on top of me for 3 hours until being rescued. We lost our dog of 14 years. We became displaced because of the explosion and had to stay at a motel. While recovering from this traumatic event we were not able to receive proper medical care that we needed. We underwent the stress of knowing how much damage was done to our home but not knowing when we could return home or what sort of assistance we would get to fix it.  On July 22nd, Auzie died. Now I am alone and can't return to the home I shared with my beloved companion of 20 years. Auzie was a retired teacher from LA Unified School District. I am without the partner that I depended on. I still can't find our dog. I am in need of funds for a new place to live, food, supplies, funeral expenses and medical care.  My entire life is in that house and I'm not able to return. I use a walker and maneuvering through the damage is impossible. Mourning the loss of Auzie is tiring and difficult. Lifting some of the financial burden so I can begin to rebuild the life that LAPD destroyed with their careless actions would be a blessing.  Thank you so much for donating or sharing.                                                                                                             Lorna Hairston
