Vickie's Valiant Battle

Please help Vickie in her battle with cancer!

Hello, my name is Jennifer and our good friend Victoria Zimmerman-Boyer (Vickie) is fighting her second bout of cancer. Almost 8 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and found out she was pregnant with her daughter Kensington. She did chemotherapy in her second trimester as it was the safest thing for her and her baby. Soon after she gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl she started treatment again and had a double mastectomy. After months of chemotherapy and countless surgery’s she was in remission!!

In November of 2021 they received the unbearable news that her cancer was back. After being hospitalized in the ICU with 2 pulmonary embolisms, large amounts of fluid around her heart resulting in emergency heart surgery and her whole body swelling they found that the cancer had spread to multiple spots in her spine, hip bone and femur. She started chemotherapy right away. During that time, Vickie switched chemotherapy medications because her scans weren’t showing any improvement. She has undergone many painful tests and has now discovered 12 new spots on her brain.

Vickie is getting ready to start very aggressive chemotherapy and radiation sessions with a very good team at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She has a huge support system with her fiancé Justin Olendorff, 2 children Landon and Kensington and both their family and friends. She is a stay-at-home mom and was attending cosmetology school to become a hairdresser but her chemo sessions has put that on hold. She is currently on state Medicare because she doesn’t qualify for insurance due to her cancer being a preexisting medical issue. Medicare only covers so much and certain doctors and hospitals.

We will be hosting a Dine Out For Vickie event at Hattrick's Irish Sports Pub on Monday June 27. Come eat and drink to help support Vickie! 50% of the sales from Monday 6/27 will be donated to her. We will also be selling tickets at the bar for a cooler full of booze, beer and giftcards.

Please help us raise money for Vickie and her family. They have all been through so much and deserve all the help they can get with paying medical bills and raising a family during this difficult time.
