About the accident
On September 8, Vicki (Dahl) Vega was in a serious car accident. A heavy truck ran a red light at high speed, hitting Vicki on the driver's side as she made a left turn. She received life-saving attention by a good Samaritan and emergency responders, but she suffered extensive and severe injuries. Although she has yet to regain consciousness, she is now stable and showing small, but hopeful signs of improvement.
Every day Vicki reminds us of the strength and determination for which she is well known. She is at the very beginning of a daunting road to recovery, and she is fighting hard to get there. Returning to health and independence will require intensive rehabilitation, at costs that vastly exceed our resources. We are reaching out for support to ensure she has access to the care she needs.
About Vicki
Vicki is an exceptional mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Laughter comes easy to Vicki, and she brings silliness and humor to everything she does. She is known for turning even the most mundane tasks into a game. She is fiercely devoted to her family and is quick to offer help to others in need.
Vicki spent much of her life working in childcare, a profession that deeply fulfilled her. Through her passion, creativity, and boundless energy, she has had a lasting impact on the lives of dozens of children. She is always eager to share funny and touching memories of every child she cared for, memories she keeps close at hand and that continue to bring her happiness.
Vicki is an avid reader, an adventurous cook, a tireless worker, and a lover of all things four-legged and furry. We have learned much from her generosity, sense of humor, and, above all, strength.
Please help us return to Vicki a little of the love and goodwill she has poured into the world. Our gratitude for your kindness and support is eternal.
With endless thanks,
Her loving children,
Kimberly, Jason, and Kelly
