Vicki West's Story:
"I woke up on the morning of Monday, October 10th 2016 with bad stomach and back pain. I called the doctor and got an appointment scheduled for Thursday Oct. 13.
The doctor suspected a bleeding ulcer since I was very anemic. They were also considering the idea of a kidney stone.
She sent me for a sonogram on Monday, October 17th. There was something on the sonogram that the technician was unable to identify, so the doctor sent me back for a CAT-scan.
The CAT-scan showed possible pancreatic cancer.
I was sent to the Oncologist on Tuesday, October 18. The oncologist sent me for a PET-scan on Wednesday October 19. The PET-scan revealed a tumor.
On the morning of Friday October 21 I was sent to the hospital for a biopsy. The biopsy came back positive for a tumor. I went to the hospital on the 28th of October to have a medical port added to receive chemo treatments. I also recieved 2 pints of blood that day due to being very anemic.
Chemo treatments began immediately on November 4 and continued once a week.
This has been a very scary and fast process as everything seemed to just move so fast once diagnosed."
