By the time you come across this post, you probably heard that on Sunday heaven gained one of its strongest and most loving angels. At Napa State Hospital she was known as Vicki to the teenagers she cared for and throughout her 36 years as a psychiatric technician, she went WAY above her job description to enhance the lives of these kids lost in the system. Whether it was delivering a hard lesson or spending her own money to put on a birthday party for a patient, it was known that she did it with love.

If you lived anywhere near Mini Drive in Vallejo, CA or for that matter if you met her anywhere other than her job, you knew her as Naunie. The front door was always open to kids in the neighborhood and her heart was always open to anyone she crossed paths with. Those lucky enough to be in her presence for any real amount of time surely knew they just gained a vital piece of their life that they didn’t even know they were missing.

Naunie also was the loudest cheerleader at the baseball games: As we all know she has Naunies baseball greatest hits. With a few number one hits like:

Pluckem Pluckem where it counts

And there are noooooo outs

and the most famous

EVERYONE Gets a hit ........

Serving others was Naunie’s favorite thing to do. She would give you the shoes off her feet, without giving you a chance to say no. The memories she was a part of for three generations serve as a reminder that Naunie will ALWAYS be with us. As she leaves behind her earthly body and moves on to Heaven, we would love to put together a celebration of life in her name. Any help that you can provide will go towards the process of fulfilling her wishes in regards to her remains as well as all other costs that are associated with the celebration of Naunie’s life and legacy. Any overage of funds collected will go towards living expenses for Naunie’s husband Elliott as he finds a way to move forward without his partner of 30 years.
