I run Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club in Moranbah.
The club is VICE JIU JITSU I have been running for just over a year. I run kids classes more based towards bully proofing the children, ages range from as young as 4 and all the way to 12 years old and I get an average of 15 kids per class. I run the classes Tuesday fortnightly (due to work).
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu does wonders for their fitness, flexibility and self confidence and has been proven on a handful of the kids that I train.
I am passionate about teaching this martial art to the kids as there is zero striking, meaning no punching or kicking. It is all based on restraining and submissions. So when a bad situation can be defused without throwing a punch that is a great thing in my belief.
I also have a healthy adult following in the short time the club has been active the lads have traveled to several Jiu Jitsu competitions across Queensland and Inter State and have done the club very proud bringing home gold most of the time and beating much more experienced competition.
The reason for my funding is to purchase some club shirts for the kids to train in.
