Vicarstown NS Building Development Fund

Vicarstown National School, Matehy, which now has 136 pupils from 92 families, is to get a much-needed school building extension.  The plans for the new school extension look great, with additional classrooms and activity space and the planned drop-off area will be a much-welcomed addition also.  The funds for these have been secured, but additional expenses such as site acquisition and associated professional fees are not covered by grants.  In addition to fundraising carried out in the last school year, an additional €7000 is required by the beginning of 2021 for these uncovered costs.

The Parents Association organise a Christmas Bazaar annually and this is the main fundraiser for the school each year.  This year, for the first time in 30 years the bazaar cannot go ahead due to COVID-19 restrictions.  It is vital however that we secure the required €7000 and for that reason the Parents Association have set up this GoFundMe page.  We understand that 2020 has been a difficult year for all but would greatly appreciate any financial contribution from school families, local businesses and neighbours/friends in the locality.

Please note that the image shown is from the original design proposal which has been updated since due to additional approved building work.  The design team are in the early stages of the design process of the revised build and the Car park/Drop off area will be going to tender in the next couple of weeks.
