In June 2021 Nick and Danielle Allen, two school teachers living in Vermont, welcomed their beautiful baby daughter, Vivienne, to the world. Soon after birth, Vivienne began experiencing difficulties and was diagnosed with Pediatric High-Grade Glioma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. At two weeks old she underwent open brain surgery that removed all visible parts of the tumor. After a biopsy revealed their worst fears, baby Vivi started her 16-month journey of chemotherapy and treatment in August at the University of Vermont Medical Center, under the advisement of a specialized team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Nothing could have prepared Nick & Danielle for this journey. Their lives are now dictated by weekly chemo treatments, hospital stays and blood transfusions. To make matters worse they have to do it with a very small bubble of helpers since even a fever is now considered an emergency.
To know Nick and Danielle, is to love them. These two educators care deeply about their community and are used to being the ones to help others. They are two of the most authentic and genuine humans on this planet, and it’s time we show them our generosity and support during this unimaginable time.
Nick, Danielle, and Vivienne have a long road ahead. One thing we know for sure is that Vivienne has already proved during her short period on this earth that she is brave, strong, and resilient. We want to support Vivienne and her parents in every way possible and show them that there is a large community of people who deeply care about them in this journey.
All funds raised will go directly to their family to support them during Vivienne's treatment with medical bills, travel expenses to and from UVM, and daily life expenses as Danielle is taking time off and currently not working to give Vivi the constant love and attention she deserves.
Thank you in advance, and we will be sure to post updates on Vivienne’s health as she progresses through her chemo treatment.
