Via Uno Needs Your Help: Please Read Description

Thank you for those who are taking the time to read the following. After careful and long consideration we have decided to release this GoFundMe page. We have struggled with this decision as we know many people are greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic both financially and emotionally. Furthermore, we are so grateful for those who have ordered take-out and delivery that has allowed us to stay open for these last couple weeks (please continue to order and we look forward to delivering!).
Sadly, take-out and delivery will not sustain the needs of our employees, the cost of rent, nor the cost of other necessities such as gas and water. We have attempted to reduce costs in any way we can and unfortunately have only been awarded deferral payments which will put us in financial distress at the time of payment. The loans within the CARES act is a possible future solution; however, the application is not currently available nor have regulations on the act been released. This means that we do not have access to a loan at this time and the loan may not be financially viable for Via Uno because it may hold the partners responsible rather than the business if insolvency or bankruptcy occurs in addition to other complications.
As many of you know we are a family at Via Uno and we consider our customers our family. Our hearts break for all during this pandemic and we plan to use this money to pay our employees and our rent. To address the thought that many of you may have for our employees which is that of "Take advantage of unemployment". This is a very complicated decision for those who decide to take unemployment. One issue is that those employees with a green card face risk of non-renewal from the U.S. government for using governmental services. We are happy to talk more in depth about the barriers we face and are open to any solutions (beyond GoFund Me).
