Multiple Myeloma

My name is Kimmy & I am starting this gofundme to help my friends/family Bill, Mandy, & Elliott Honchell. Bill is on a very long cancer journey. I know it’s not easy to ask for help from others but so many people have asked how they can help. There will be medical bills & traveling for Mandy since Bill must stay in Philadelphia through the stem cell transplant for his safety and well being. This is a 2+ hour commute one from their home (one way) for Mandy to visit her husband Bill. Unfortunately it is not safe for Elliott to see Bill while in the hospital due to germs and illness. Therefore Mandy absolutely cannot stay down in Philadelphia with Bill. Mandy will need to travel back and forth to see him. Elliott will be able to FaceTime her Daddy while he is there. The medical bills will also rack up very quickly from the treatments and stay in Philadelphia alone. This does not include his medical bills from his first set of treatments. In August of 2023 I (Bill) was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. A bone marrow / plasma cancer … after an ER visit for stomach pain.

The first few weeks were hell… filled with tears, what ifs, and fear. Thanks to our awesome Oncology team… I was able to start an aggressive chemo regiment. After 18 weeks, we can say it was a success… as I was able to ring the bell in early February.. marking the end of my weekly chemo treatments.

March 2024 - I am receiving an auto stem cell transplant away from home. Multiple Myeloma is not curable but it is treatable. This transplant gives me my best chance at a remission. I will be away from Mandy, Elliott and my friends and family for a few weeks.

The cost of fighting cancer is astronomical … not including the mental toll. I’m concerned for my family while I’m away. So far we have been holding our own, but with the added expense of the stem cell procedure and the travel expenses for Mandy… we are thankful to Kimmy for suggesting to set up this go fund.

We know times are tough for everyone, and if you can help, we appreciate it… but if you can’t… it’s ok too… your continued well wishes and prayers are always welcome too.
