Bring Ashton Home

My name is Amie. A dear colleague and friend of mine is facing the terrible reality of a very sick child, far from home.

On Nov 10 2024 Ashton was diagnosed with pneumonia. He started his medical treatment, and wad sent home to recover. Unfortunately, his condition worsened quickly and he was brought to our local emergency department on Nov 12.

From there he was placed on stronger medications, placed on high-flow oxygen and admitted to CKHA.

With minimal improvement, it was decided Ashton be transferred to Pedeatric ICU at Victoria Hospital in London. There he was diagnosed with Pleural Effusion as well. (Fluid Accumulated around his lungs)

He had to have a chest tube inserted to drain the fluid, which produced 17oz immediately!!

He is still battling his infection and is in the pediatric unit in London.

Courtney is a single mother, currently employed part time at our local hospital, and has had to step away from her younger son and work to be with her boy. As you can imagine the travel alone, paired with zero working hours, makes money VERY tight.

Although her only Christmas wish is to have a Healthy family safe at home, they sure could use some help.
