This is very hard for us to ask for help. But as I am sitting here with my sister, Lisa, waiting on our mother having a brain procedure at Winston Salem, I decided to ask for help.
Many of you know our 16 year old daughter Amber has been very sick since December 2013 and almost lost her life. Thank GOD her body grew new veins from her heart and abdomen. She had a massive blood clot in her heart, her IVC is completely blocked with blood clots, one of her kidneys died (could have to have a transplant in the near future), she had PE's in both lungs. This has resulted in many, many stays at Wake Med and Vidant Greenville. She has been hospitalized almost 20 times since 12/13. She has high blood pressure, PTSD and the list goes on. All this could have been prevented if the Dr did not do a wrong test on her and given her some medicine that triggered the blood clots. She has lost contact with her friends because she is unable to attend school and is home schooled. This is a rare genetic disorder called Factor V Leiden. Then, my husband had to be hospitalized due to heart issues which was due to stress.
Deleon and I have both missed a lot of work due to the fact of having to be with Amber during her many stays at the hospital. Then, I became sick with an upper GI bleed and had to have surgery, three months later I had to have another emergency surgery on a hernia. I missed work for three more weeks. During my recovery our son Tristan got hit with a baseball in the spleen and had to be watched very close. He also has PTSD due to all of the trauma our family has faced.
Deleon and I do not want pity or anyone to feel sorry for us, but the bills are adding up and our house could be in jeopardy. WE have tried the best we can without help, working every hour overtime possible, but when she has acute attacks we have to be with her. Missing work is neccessary because family comes first. Reality, we have been strong but the time has come that we need just a little help.
We are very appreciative and have helped many people and never expected to be on the other side of a need. PLease share and help us!
God bless!
