Help for Shean

Shean was involved in a hunting accident on Thursday, November 14th. He was with Clayton Etzkorn and Melissa Cross-they were trap shooting. Shean had fired his Weatherby 12 gauge shot gun about 17 times-on the 18th shot the gun exploded in his left hand. The shell went right through barrel of the gun. His left hand took all of the force & impact of the ammunition. Clayton and Melissa acted very quickly. They wrapped Melissa's sweatshirt around Shean's left hand/arm. Clayton took Shean to Avera St. Mary's Emergency Room where he received immediate attention, thank you to who provided that care. Shean had surgery that evening to remove the ammunition from his hand. The wad was lodged in the soft tissue under his left thumb.  The nerves and tendons are all intact. The surgery was done by Dr. Hagy. Shean spent the night in the hospital. To date he does not have feeling in his left index finger and limited movement in his left thumb. He was discharged home with strict instructions to not lift or use his left hand in anyway. Shean will see Dr. Hagy on November 26, 2019 to remove the dressing and assess the healing.
Shean, his family and friends strongly believe that Shean's guardian angels were there. There is no scientific way that he should still have his hand and/or his fingers.
As most of you know, Shean is self employed. In November 2018 he started Lauing Construction, LLC. He does not have health insurance-we are working on a few avenues. To date though he is responsible for all of his medical expenses.
Shean has 2 little boys: Wyatt 7 years old and Colter 5 years old. It is unknown when/if he will be able to return to construction.
Shean has a long road ahead: with medical appointments, pain control, physical therapy, and keeping his mind busy. As we all know idle time is not good for our mental health.
Shean is active in his community. Always willing to help where there is a need. Let's show him how much we love and support him.
If you can help Shean and the boys with monetary assistance and/or prayer support-we are very grateful. May God bless you!
