Hi Friends!
I am Shaylen Broughton, an artist from Richmond VA. I received my BFA from SCAD in 2011 and I have been working here in Richmond as an independent artist since 2014. I have had many great opportunities and have become very involved with the local art community here. I have had the pleasure of working with several non profits such as Hands On Greater Richmond, Art 180 , Art on Wheels and The Better Housing Coalition.
My goal as an artist is to share the beauty of this life and inspire others to do the same.

Recently, I was presented with a very amazing opportunity to show my artwork at two shows in Australia this August. The first being on August 4th in the Gold Coast, and the second in Sydney on the 19th.
I would be using the time in between shows to create work inspired by the local landscape and overall vibe, I also plan to search for local volunteer opportunities in the community where I will be staying.
In order for me to be able to take advantage of this great opportunity, I will need your help getting there, in exchange for your help I would like to offer a print or discount on a future purchase for each donation. The work presented to the donor will be based on the donation amount. For Example...
**EVERYONE who donates gets first dibs on anything I create in Australia**
$2= $2 off a future purchase
$5= $5 off a future purchase
$10 = 5"x7" print or $10 off a future purchase
$25 = 8"x10" print or $25 off a future purchase
$50 = 16"x20" print or $50 off a future purchase
The money I raise here will pay for the plane ticket, lodging, vehicles, shipping and other expenses associated with traveling abroad.
I will need to gather the funds to make this happen before August 1st
