Joe vs. Leukemia
Donation protected
Jonathan “Joe” Keast is my brother. In early February, Joe received the life-altering diagnosis of Acute Lymphoid Leukemia (ALL). I'm Stacey for those who don't know me.
After several months of ‘not feeling well,’ Joe went to the emergency room following four days of a relentless high-grade fever and ‘virus-like symptoms.’ About 36-hours later, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He remained in the hospital for five weeks of intense in-patient treatment.
In his mid-30s, Joe has worked out nearly every day of his adult life and has consciously been a clean-eater. Doctors say this will work in his favor throughout treatment, but there is about a two-year path to recovery ahead.
With no return to work date scheduled, and many treatments and bills piling up, we have started this fundraiser in his honor.
I don't think there are many people who like accepting help as an adult. But I also know there are many people who would do just about anything to 'fix' this and take the leukemia away. Unfortunately, the majority of us are not doctors or scientists, and giving is our way of doing our part. There are many ways to give support, not just through this page. And we appreciate you for any way you are able to contribute to this fight. Thank you.
