My Fundraising Story
Race date: 13th of April 2025. Paris Marathon.
Running was never a big part of my life, until I met Roxanne.
Our second date was at our local Parkrun, and in true rookie fashion, I turned up completely unprepared for what was ahead. Somehow, I managed to keep up (just about!), with Roxanne cheering me on.
Since then, running has become a huge part of my life. But more importantly, I’ve come to understand why it means so much to Roxanne.
Roxanne has Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, a rare genetic condition that can cause tumours to grow in different parts of her body. For her, running isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way to keep moving forward, to push through challenges, and to prove that she is stronger than VHL.
Now, I’m taking on the Paris Marathon, not just for myself, and not just for Roxanne, but for everyone living with or supporting those with VHL and other genetic conditions.
I’m raising awareness and vital funds for VHL UK & Ireland, a charity that provides crucial support, advocacy, and research funding for those affected. Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in the fight against VHL.
Thank you for your support, let’s go the distance together!
