Help with medical travel

My name is Debbie, and I am Adley's grandma.

Adley was born almost 6 weeks early; she was born with Apert Syndrome. Adley and her parents, Nick and Hailey Porter, will be traveling back and forth to Denver and Billings for surgeries, testing, and treatments.

They just received their bill from the Denver NICU, and just that one bill is $405,947.57. Insurance will help for sure, but insurance also starts over in January, meaning their deductible will start over. This is a huge expense for this young couple. Both were off work for 42 days, and Hailey is still not back to work due to appointments needed for Adley. Any help with travel expenses would be greatly appreciated.

Craniolfacial / Plastic’s gave a run down on what to expect. It’s a 3 part surgery.

The typical craniofacial surgery approach for patients with Apert syndrome, with PCVD (posterior cranial vault remodeling) at age 6-9 months; FOA (fronto-orbital advancement) at age 18-24 months, followed by midface advancement with Le Fort III distraction at age 8-10 years at time of orbital skeletal maturity;, followed by orthognathic correction at age 16-18 years, after orthodontic preparation.

He wants to do a telehealth video chat in December to make sure she’s okay and then have us come down in January.

We are getting an updated catscan on her head at 1:40 to make sure there is no fluid building up and no new closures.

Orthopedic-

There are three types of hands Aperts kids have (spade, mitten, rosebud) she is between 1-2 but mainly a mitten form.

He won’t do her 1st surgery until a year old.

He will separate the pinky and index first. She will be in casts for 3 weeks and then a split for 3 months to help it not web back together. The 2nd surgery will be to separate the two middle fingers. Eventually they will go in and fix her thumb (the bone is currently shaped like a triangle and it needs to be a square)

Feet will be later on down the road.
