In early October someone was surrendering Marley to the pound. We happened to be there and intercepted her before she was surrendered. Marley had a blue glow in her eyes and we did not think anything of it at first. Consulting our vet during Marley's shots we were told her eyes are still developing. The abnormality in the eyes remained and we went to see a specialst. Marley was born with cataracts in her eyes and has been blind since birth. Shw has been able to get by up to this point with her other senses. After testing her eyes the Dr determined that Marley is a candidate for surgery that would remove her cataracts and restore her vision. If nothing is done Marley will not only be blind but we will have to remove both of her eyes. Marley was more than likely being surrendered to the pound due to the fact that the surrendering party was aware of her condition. We are sad about the situaition but very happy that we were able to obtain Marley as she most likely would have been euthanized at the pound due to her condition. Marley is only 6 months old and can live a great life with almost perfect vision if we can raise the money for her surgery. Please help us help Marley as the surgery is very expensive.
