At just 19 years old, Adriana, has always been the light of every room she walks into—sweet, funny, and full of life. She’s the kind of girl who could make anyone laugh on their hardest days, whose spirit shines brighter than any obstacle in her way. But a few weeks ago, her world, and ours, was turned upside down when she suffered a brain stroke, something unimaginable for someone so young. This stroke, sadly, damaged the nerves on her feet, making her suffer daily with uncontrollable pain that the doctors have not found a way to stop yet. She was hospitalized for 45 days and went through so much pain and frustration. To add to this, she has been battling lupus, a chronic illness that already demands more strength and courage than most people will ever know.

This life-changing event has left her facing challenges no teenager should ever have to endure. Thankfully she's been released from the hospital and is now home, but her recovery is long and uncertain. Though her determination is as fierce as ever, the toll, emotional and financial, has been heavy on our family. I’ve had to stop working to care for her full time, leaving her father as the only provider for our household, with our two younger children also depending on him. She has many medications, 14 to be precise, physical therapy, as well as a very high bill. I’m reaching out because no family should have to face this battle alone.
