Lou Ruby and the Hickey Tavern are Bona icons, seemingly timeless over the past 35 years. Lou has received continued harassment from the SLA, always looking to nail him. He is the only bar in Allegany that does not serve minors.
Lou has been fined by the SLA for $5,000 that is due by Feb 26th. Tony Tirone '85, has been providing pro bonon legal advice for the past year to address the 'bogus' charges. This puts Lou in a perilous spot.
Your assistance, in anyway, will allow him to keep his (and our) bar.
Lou is humbled by this request, but I am happy he is comfortable in reaching out to the SBU alum who care.
