Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

With heavy hearts, we share the devastating news that Fancy Feet Dance Studio, a beloved family-owned business in the Pacific Palisades, CA, was tragically lost in the recent wildfire. For over 30 years, Fancy Feet has been more than a dance studio—it has been a second home, a sanctuary, and a vibrant hub for generations of families in the community.

Fancy Feet was established by Emily Kay Tillman, a lifelong Palisades resident with an unshakable passion for dance and a heart full of love for her students. This isn’t just a business—it’s her life’s work. Her twin daughters grew up in the studio, learning the art of dance alongside the values of hard work, kindness, and community. Today, they are proud teachers at Fancy Feet, carrying on the family legacy. Her youngest teen daughter is an enthusiastic assistant to many classes and brings an enormous amount of energy and joy to the studio, while her husband Mike is always there with a smile, lending a hand in the halls and supporting everyone tremendously behind the scenes. Emily’s best friend, Patty, has been the welcoming face in the office since day one, and many of the faculty have been part of this family since the studio first opened its doors. Students that were once toddlers at Fancy Feet have grown into adults, and many now bring their own children to experience the same love and magic they did. For all of us—students, parents, and teachers alike—Fancy Feet has been a second home.

We, Dena and Jenna, have been privileged to teach here for the past 15 years since we moved to Los Angeles and we’ve witnessed firsthand the love and joy this studio brings to everyone who walks through its doors. Fancy Feet is more than a place to learn dance—it’s a space where friendships are formed and confidence is built.

Emily, who gives endlessly to her students and community, now needs our help. The wildfire has taken so much from so many families, and helping Fancy Feet is a crucial step in restoring hope and joy for the community.
