. I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but today my home burned down, and we lost everything. Just last month, I accomplished a dream I’ve worked toward for years: I became a first-time homeowner. It was something I was so proud of. I created a safe and loving place for my kids to grow up. In just minutes, that dream was taken from us. Our clothes, food, furniture, and our precious belongings are gone.

I’ve spent my career taking care of others, especially during some of the hardest moments in the ICU. Asking for help doesn’t come easy for me, but right now, we truly need it.
