Lemantha Hastie Mosley is a 43 year old devoted mother, wife and a friend to many others. As many of you know , Lemantha and Alvin are parents to four children, Jayden 9, Maya 16, Donavan 22, and Jamila 24.
In July 2014 Lemantha went to a doctor’s appointment, because she felt an unusual lump in her breast. The doctor didn't think it would be anything to worry about, but did a biopsy to be sure and the results were horrifying.
Lemantha was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer which required immediate lumpectomy surgery. Two weeks later, her doctor informed her that he would have to perform another lumpectomy surgery to remove the additional cancerous tissues that were discovered.
She was instructed by her doctor to immediately undergo treatment and intensive chemotherapy. Her chemotherapy treatments were performed by MD Anderson in Atlanta for a 5-month treatment program. January 2015 she completed the entire chemotherapy regiment and was happily on her way to a full recovery.
Lemantha was very happy to be back at work and back into a normal routine with her family and co-workers. In April 2015 she started having headaches and feeling light headed, regularly. She saw several different doctors and specialists to figure out the cause of the headaches. On April 30th Lemantha and Alvin were hit with even more devastating news! The cancer had now spread to her BRAIN! Taking things in stride, like the Mosley’s always do, they asked the doctors they needed to do to beat this? She was advised to immediately start a very intensive radiation program that had over 15 rounds of proton radiation therapy.
Lemantha completed the radiation treatments as instructed by her doctors. She recovered very well and was even back to walking and jogging 3 miles a day a few times per week. She was enjoying her summer like she always does and made a west coast trip out to San Francisco to visit with Jamila. Upon returning from San Francisco she started having an uncomfortable feeling in her mid-section. Again, the doctors ran more tests to determine what was causing the discomfort. The tests revealed yet another devastating discovery. The cancer had spread to ANOTHER part of her body.
She is currently undergoing yet another intensive radiation treatment program.
Lemantha’s WILL, FAITH, and STRENGTH are at the highest level and have always been throughout this fight! Alvin has been with her on this journey every day and remains to be the ROCK for their family.
This family has never asked for anything, but their family and friends who are close to Lemantha’s story would like to do a fundraiser to help as much as possible. As we all know, medical expenses and all other expenses don’t take a break or go on pause during these challenging times.
