Phillip Roundy Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hi my name is Phillip Roundy. On April 10, 2015 the day started out like any other ordinary day.  I was on my way to work on my motorcycle when I was hit by a truck. The driver was cited for failure to yield.  I will let my wife tell the story going forward since I can't recall anything until I woke up in a rehab facility six days later.  The most horrifying thing is getting a phone call while you are at work to be told your husband was in a motorcycle accident and all they tell you is that "it's really bad" and you need to get to the hospital.  A million things go through your mind.  It was hours before we were able to finally see him in the ER, my step son was with me.  I couldn't imagine going in to see him alone, not knowing what to expect.  Once we were finally able to see him we were told that the injuries he sustained consisted of a hairline fracture to his right wrist, a broken left ankle,  an open compound fracture of his right femur which had been crushed and shattered in over 30 places, several abrasions, a really bad concusion.  He had to have several surgeries to repair the damage.  The first surgery he had to go through is cleaning of the fracture to make sure he didn't have any infection in the right leg.  Once they knew there were no infections, they went in to perform the next two surgeries to repair the right femur leg and his left ankle.  Once he was released from the hospital he had to go to rehab before being released home.  He was in rehab for over a week to get him accustomed to moving from a wheelchair to the bed and to the bathroom.  You take for granted the little things once you are unable to do them.   It is going to be months of therapy to get him back to normal and the hospital bills continue to come in.   At this time he has been told it would be at least six months before he would be able to walk again on his right leg.  Of course due to the extensive injuries he has, he is unable to work at this time. So we are asking for everyone's kindness to help us through this difficult time.  Please donate any funds to help us with our expenses.
