My daughter, Vashti, has a muscle wasting neurological condition and is dependent on a wheelchair for mobility. She was recently admitted to hospital with a blood clot in her leg (DVT). Her condition causes her legs to go very stiff, (spasm) or too weak so that she cannot stand. Vashti would benefit greatly from using a MOTOmed, which is like an exercise bike for wheelchair users. MOTOmeds are installed in hospitals, rehabilation centres and gyms for wheelchair users. If Vashti could have a MOTOmed at home she could exercise daily and greatly reduce the chances of another DVT. The MOTOmed equipment also allow her to exercise her arms and back, which is now weakened, and has affected her posture greatly. There is no treatment for Vashti's condition and regular exercise, to help keep her muscles stronger, is the best way to give her a better quality of life.
We are hoping to purchase this exercise equipment as soon as possible and would be so very grateful of any support we could get.
