Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest things for me to write, but I’m doing it because Anders needs help—and because rebuilding your life sometimes means admitting you can’t do everything alone.
I know some people may feel I should have the money for emergencies. The truth is, I’m still fixing choices made by a younger version of myself. I work hard and take responsibility now, but I’m still catching up. I work two jobs and have been taking things one day at a time. That doesn’t change my commitment to Anders or the lengths I’ll go to for his care.
Anders has been hospitalized twice due to serious urinary problems. I am actively paying off the first hospitalization, and the second required Scratchpay so he could receive immediate treatment that required a hospital stay once again.
There is also an ongoing concern: if Anders blocks again, we may be facing a referral to a specialist out of town and a major surgical procedure called a perineal urethrostomy (PU). This surgery can be life-saving for cats with recurring blockages, but it is costly and would involve travel, specialized care, and recovery support.
Today, Anders began showing concerning symptoms, including bloody urine once again and extremely loose diarrhea. He’s being closely monitored, and this reinforces how fragile his condition still is and how quickly things can change. These ongoing complications are why continued care—and being prepared for urgent treatment if he worsens—is so important right now.
Anders is a paraplegic orange tabby who scooches through life with determination and joy. Despite everything, he still plays, seeks the sun, and shows an incredible will to live. Giving up on him has never been an option.
This GoFundMe will help with:
Emergency and hospitalization bills
Scratchpay repayment
Possible specialist care and travel
Potential PU surgery and recovery costs
Ongoing medical care and supplies.
Any donation, share, or kind word truly helps. This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about accountability, love, and continuing to move forward even when things are hard.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me give Anders the life he deserves.
