We are raising funds to help offset the medical costs for Harold Burger, a 6th grade teacher at Hamilton Park Elementary.  He was admitted to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain and after multiple CT Scans he was diagnosed with Acute Diverticulitis and will need to have surgery to remove part of his colon.

So far the hospital stay has been one week and will probably be a total of 2+ weeks. There is a good chance he will need minor surgery to remove blockages in the colon so the antibiotics can take better effect before they can perform the major surgery a few weeks later.

Harold is a 6th grade teacher of Math and Science at Hamilton Park Elementary school. As you might guess, a teacher's salary is not overly lucrative and sadly the insurance only covers 80% of the medical costs after the deductible is met.  That 20% is adding up quickly.

He is in severe pain, even with  pain medication, and has been fasting for one week with only ice chips to eat. Due to the pain, he is only able to sleep 10-15 minutes at a time which is further draining his energy. The doctors are concerned that the anitbiotics have not cleared out the infection, which has prolonged his stay in the hospital before they can perform the required surgery.  

Between the weeks he will be in the hospital, surgeries, medicines, CT Scans and other tests, the medical bills are piling up rapidly and any help received through gofundme is much appreciated by the Burger family.
