Memorial Day weekend is a time for relaxing, catching up on some much-needed rest and, for many families, overnight outings -- like camping! That was what my sister, Sally, and Redgy and their granddaughters, Leia and Lilly, intended to do.

Instead, on the way to the campground off Hiway 299 east of Redding, the road gave way and their car rolled several times down an embankment. Parents, Lance and Tia, were right behind in a separate car and saw much of the accident.

We are so thankful that the lives of this beautiful family have been spared. In the hospital, every body part was scanned and examined for the four of them. There are injuries that will require recovery.

Nine-year-old Leia needed to be air lifted from the woods and was flown to UC Davis. She is now just beginning to recover from surgery to repair a femur fracture.

They say, "time heals" ... and time will be needed for full recovery.  gofundme  is a way to support Lance and Tia as they work toward supporting their family back to health.
