Valerie Vazzino's medical expenses
Donation protected
Valerie Vazzino is a loving wife and mother (of 5 yr old twin girls), an amazing daughter, sister and friend and a beautiful strong woman of God. Valerie has the biggest heart, always giving whether it is her time, compassion or her last dollar. She spreads love and the word of God every chance she gets even to complete strangers. Today she and our family humbly ask for the same, as she is in need! Whether you can donate money, send her loving words of encouragement, or join in the power of prayer, we will graciously appreciate any and everything.
On Tuesday June 30th (one day after he 36th birthday) Valerie collapsed in her kitchen, luckily her husband was home and was able to call for an ambulance. After numerous tests and being transferred downtown to the medical center it was determined she had suffered a seizure. With no history of seizures the next question was… why? An MRI of the brain would show a large tumor covering about 30% of her brain. The Doctors and Surgeons believe the tumor to be benign, however want it removed immediately. It is currently affecting her motor skills and leaving her entire left side of her body very weak. The bigger it grows the more it will affect her physically and the greater the surgery risk.
As many of you know Valerie is a fighter and a warrior a childhood cancer survivor! When Valerie was 5 years old she was diagnosed with ALL childhood leukemia. She would endure years of painful tests, treatments and chemo and was in remission at age of 7. Unfortunately, a year and half later the cancer would return in her spine and this time more aggressively. This would mean more aggressive treatment which would include chemo and radiation. Valerie fought through it, and is a proud cancer survivor, and has been cancer free for 24 years! However, the doctors believe the same radiation that helped save her life is most likely what has caused this tumor. Just another battle she will overcome!!!
Surgery has been scheduled for this coming Thursday, August 13th. Unfortunately, when Valerie was laid off late last year they could only afford insurance for a few months. So when this first started back in June Valerie was uninsured leaving her and her family to pay out of pocket more than $30,000 in medical bills. Although she is now insured as you can imagine brain surgery is not cheap. We ask that anyone who can please donate so we can help eliminate some of the stress on what is an already stressful situation.
Lastly we ask everyone to keep Valerie, her family, her surgeon and the entire hospital staff in prayer.
Thank you and God Bless!
1 Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
