Support for Family Rebuilding After Fire

On May 29th, 2024, after welcoming their newborn child four weeks prior, my dear friend’s house caught fire from a lightning strike during a thunderstorm in the middle of the night.

They are extremely lucky and blessed to have escaped before anyone was hurt. A strike of lightning caused a mechanical fire in their basement and part of the upper level. Their home is now uninhabitable due to the smoke- it damaged all of their newborn baby’s items, everyone’s clothes, all of their furniture, as well as the home’s plumbing, electrical, and structural integrity. This was their first home that they worked tirelessly to afford that they only moved into a few years ago. These young parents, their two elementary-aged children, and newborn have lost everything in one night. The five of them are sharing the living room space of a grandparent’s small apartment while they scramble to replace the essentials for their children. This has been a very devastating time for their family and a month later, they are still in a state of crisis. Any donation, now matter how small, would mean so very much to them.
