Miles That Matter

Cycling to Bring a Toilet to the Course at Ranfurly Castle Golf Club

I’m taking on an extreme endurance challenge to help make golf at RCGC more inclusive and accessible. As part of Miles That Matter, I’ll be cycling:

5 km for every birdie

7.5 km for every eagle

10 km for every hole-in-one

— all in a single virtual ride on Zwift, following the June Monthly Medal.

Why This Matters

Sometimes, something as simple as a toilet can mean the difference between enjoying the game—or having to sit it out.

1 in 5 people live with a bladder condition, yet most golf courses don’t have adequate facilities.

Women, older players, and those with health issues often struggle to complete a round in comfort.

For me, it’s personal: I’ve lived with Crohn’s disease since I was 4 and have a permanent ileostomy pouch. Without toilet access, playing golf becomes extremely difficult. This facility would be a lifesaver—not just for me, but for many others living with invisible illnesses.

The Goal: Raise £12,000

We’re raising funds to install a clean, accessible, and well-placed toilet on the course. This simple addition will:

✅ Make golf at RCGC more inclusive

✅ Encourage more women and girls to take part

✅ Support the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of all players
