Veterinary expenses for cat we found in a ditch

Last night we found a stray cat injured on the side of the road. There was no way we could leave her there to freeze to death, so we picked her up. She has seen the emergency vet and has obvious head trauma as you can see from the photo. Due to swelling, the emergency clinic wasn't able to complete diagnostics on her injuries. She definitely needs x-rays. She probably needs surgery on the bone below her eye, which is fractured. She may lose her eye. We can provide her with a home, but she needs veterinary care that we were not prepared for. Right now she is resting at home and will be evaluated again by our regular vet first thing tomorrow morning.

I don't know for sure how much the vet bills will be. The emergency vet gave us a ballpark amount of between $800 and $1200. Any amount would be appreciated. We just want her to have a chance to survive. For a cat found in the ditch, she seems to have a gentle personality and enjoys being held and petted. She tolerates syringe feeding (her face is too swollen for her to open her mouth normally to eat) and even takes her antibiotic and pain meds politely.

Thank you in advance for any help.
